Chesterfield's 2-1 win over Newport at the weekend ended four straight defeats for the Spireites.

Only five points separate Chesterfield in 15th and Salford in 11th.

This will be just the second Football League meeting between Salford City and Chesterfield after the pair drew 1-1 in the reverse fixture back in August.
