    Nickname is Steto Speaks Italian, Spanish and English Started playing tennis at age 8 Father, Enzo, owns a news agency; mother, Simonella, is a tennis coach Favourite surface is clay; shot is forehand, and tournament is Roland Garros Idol growing up was David Ferrer Enjoys fishing If he wasn't a tennis player, he would run track-and-field Used to train in Buenos Aires, Argentina In summer 2011, fell down stairs and through a glass window at his apartment. Severed artery in right wrist and suffered other arm and hand injuries. Underwent surgery 2 days following accident and did not play from August 2011 through August 2012. Returned to tour without regaining full feeling in hand

    Italian qualified into his 7th career Grand Slam tournament at 2023 US Open and all 3 wins were from a set down. Also qualified at 2017 Wimlbledon and US Open,2018 Wimbledon and US Open and 2019 Australian Open and Roland Garros

    Achieved career-high No. 60 after falling to Sinner at 2021 Melbourne-1 in 1st tour-level final between Italians since 1988 Florence (Narducci d. C. Panatta)

    Reached 2020 Roland Garros 3R by earning 1st win in 5 sets over Nishikori, who had won 9 straight 5th sets

    Defeated No. 1 Italian Fognini for 1st tour-level win at 2017 US Open and biggest win of career at 2019 Umag over No. 9 Foginini
